In the year 1994, the university was approved by the State Education Commission for the MBBS Admission in China Europe (SEC), DMU adopted its present name. In the year 2007, it was moved to the new campus in Lushunkou District, Dalian, which is across the Lushun South Road from the Dalian University of Foreign Languages' new campus.
